LONDON, April 11, 2008 -- Green IT is quickly become a higher priority, with more than 75 percent of firms surveyed for a new report saying that eco-friendly computing is an important part of their IT operations and 15 percent saying it's their top priority.

One out of five companies surveyed said they have already adopted greener computing methods and one-third have plans to put green IT measures in place in the coming years. The report predicts a surge in interest in green IT due to technological advances, smaller budgets, increasing infrastructure footprints and tighter waste disposal and data privacy regulations.
